Lane's Parole DENIED

All, Jerry Lane attempted to execute Richland Police Officer Mike Fitzpatrick in 1982 in Columbia Park after he was chased during a car prowl investigation. Lane and Fitzpatrick wrestled over Officer Fitzpatrick’s weapon and once Lane got control of the weapon he turned it on Officer Fitzpatrick’s and shot him in the abdomen by lifting his vest and discharging the weapon.

Resolution #1 Passes

The following resolution was proposed and passed by the National Board of Directors of the Grand Lodge ref the “Stand Your Ground” laws.

  What’s up with the change in philosophy at the Academy? A short exchange between a 34 year law enforcement officer and the director of the Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA). This is in response to a Seattle Times article on July 13, 2013.

Welcome WSLCB Lieutenants to the FOP

The Washington State Liquor Control Board Lieutenants recently came aboard the FOP as Lodge #34. The LTs have signed on for labor services and legal defense. This marks the first lodge in the state that serves a statewide contingent of members. Welcome our new brothers and sisters into the Order.

Welcome Jefferson County Corrections to the FOP

The Washington State FOP would like to welcome the members of the Jefferson County Corrections to the Fraternal Order of Police.  This group will be joining the ranks of other departments who have joined the National Labor/Legal and will be members of the FOP Medical Health Coverage.
