WAFOP Statement On Olympia Protests
January 8, 2021- Members of the Washington Fraternal Order of Police (WAFOP) are committed to protecting the safety and rights of our citizens, including the right to peacefully assemble and protest. We do not, however, support protests that turn destructive or violent.
Regardless of the issue or the political position of the protestors, there is no room for violence, destruction of public or private property, or trespassing. We condemn such actions, will take appropriate steps to prevent them, and will work within the criminal justice system to ensure those committing illegal acts are held accountable for their actions.
